At Workman Nydegger we are committed to creating and nurturing an environment of diversity and inclusion. We know that high quality legal counseling and problem solving requires a foundation of great people. To build this foundation, Workman Nydegger actively recruits individuals who are committed to providing best-in-class service and enrich our firm through diverse backgrounds, experiences, talents, and demographics. Not only are we committed to increasing the quality of our firm through diverse viewpoints and backgrounds, we are also committed to promoting diversity in our local communities. To that end, we partner with local and national organizations to provide financial support and mentorship opportunities to those in underrepresented groups.

Workman Nydegger promotes diversity through an ongoing scholarship program in which four scholarships are awarded each year to students in STEM programs at local Universities in an effort to aid and encourage diverse students in the STEM field.  In addition to the financial benefits of these scholarships, the scholars are also provided an opportunity to present their work at the firm. The firm also provides mentoring for pursuing career paths in intellectual property law.

Workman Nydegger is a founding sponsor of the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the goals of equity and inclusion in Utah’s legal profession. The firm is honored to support this organization as a Platinum Sponsor.

Our firm also supports and recognizes the efforts of the HNBA (Hispanic National Bar Association) by participating as a Fellow firm in the HNBA/IPLI program. We provide both financial support and mentors, at the partner level, to support the training and development of HNBA/IPLI scholars.

Workman Nydegger is a proud supporter of the Foundation for Advancement of Diversity in IP Law. This Foundation provides mentorship and financial assistance to law students from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups who demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in Intellectual Property law. Since 2002, FADIPL has provided 140 students with over $2.5 million in scholarships, along with mentoring and networking opportunities. Workman Nydegger provides ongoing financial support to FADIPL and has also provided Shareholder representation on FADIPL’s Board of Trustees and Mentoring Committee to further The Foundation’s mission.

To further promote diversity, Workman Nydegger also provides flexible work and compensation opportunities to accommodate different lifestyle needs, including flexible tracks to partnership. Workman Nydegger offers attorneys and staff a hybrid working environment with the ability to work both from home and in our offices.
