the art of Biotechnology
Biotechnology generally refers to the application of science and technology to living organisms (or parts thereof). It concerns the application of cellular and molecular biology to understand and manipulate living or biological material at the molecular level. Many biotechnology inventions represent breakthroughs that can cover a wide range of fields, such as health, food, energy, and the environment.
With such broad coverage, inventions in biotechnology can include DNA sequencing machines, mutant microbes for vaccine treatments or bioremediation, and even genetic analyses for identifying and treating disease states in humans. Our patent practitioners servicing biotechnology inventions have academic training—and often hold advanced degrees—in the life sciences and engineering (e.g., genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, biological engineering, biomedical engineering, microbiology, and immunology).
