Megan Needham is a registered patent attorney whose practice involves intellectual property litigation; investigating potential patent, trademark, and copyright infringers; protecting clients accused of infringement; risk mitigation; trademark prosecution and enforcement; ecommerce enforcement; negotiating intellectual property agreements; and advising clients on data privacy and other regulatory matters. She employs each of these tools in developing comprehensive IP legal strategies for her clients.
Her recent successes include:
- Enforcing patents for ecommerce clients through Amazon Patent Evaluation Express (APEX) proceedings
- Negotiating settlement and licensing agreement with international company accused of infringing client’s patent rights
- Securing trademark registration upon request for reconsideration after final USPTO rejection for descriptiveness
- Negotiating international trademark coexistence agreements
- Protecting client-owned trademarks through opposition proceedings
- Fortifying client-owned intellectual property rights through removing infringing websites.
Megan previously practiced patent litigation at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York City, where she represented large, multinational companies in federal district court litigation. She also worked for several years in higher education as an instructor, counselor, and administrator.
