Levi Brown

Levi Brown is an IP prosecution attorney and a member of the Patent Prosecution Group at Workman Nydegger. Leaning on his degree in electrical engineering, combined with his experience as an engineer prior to attending law school, he assists clients in obtaining international and U.S. patents. Levi has also assisted clients in various post grant proceedings and in counseling clients on patent procurement, IP due diligence, validity and infringement, strategic planning, and enforcement and defense actions.

With his background, and the ability to interact with other engineers, Levi offers unique insights into his clients’ strategic and legal business planning, and is able to quickly distill complicated topics into their simplest form. With a keen understanding of his clients’ business objectives, he efficiently evaluates inventions to develop patent procurement strategies that meet such objectives, both domestically and internationally. He also counsels and provides opinions regarding patent matters and intellectual property issues ranging from patentability, due diligence, validity, and infringement. These opinions may lead to negotiation, licensing, acquisition, enforcement, or defense of patents.

Managing post-grant proceedings of his clients’ patents in the U.S., Levi has also initiated post-grant proceedings for his clients to challenge patents. He cooperates with litigation counsel on enforcement and defense of his clients’ intellectual property and advises his clients on such intricacies of U.S. patent litigation.
