Attorney Chul-Woo Lee Advances to Chair of the IP Section at Utah State Bar

Workman Nydegger is pleased to share that attorney Chul-Woo Lee has advanced from Secretary to Chair for the Intellectual Property (IP) Section of the Utah State Bar.

Mr. Lee holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering, as well as a J.D. He is a registered patent attorney with extensive experience in guiding clients on developing patent strategies for filing applications domestically and internationally. In his role as Chair, Mr. Lee will oversee the Section’s monthly CLE programming in collaboration with the Vice Chair, and the annual IP Bootcamp, in collaboration with the Secretary. Mr. Lee’s top priority is to lead the planning and execution of the 2027 IP Summit, including topic selection, speaker recruitment, venue arrangements, and all related logistics. He will also convene and preside over monthly Executive Committee meetings and monthly CLE Committee meetings to ensure effective section governance and program continuity.

In addition, he intends to prioritize building collaborative relationships with neighboring state IP sections — including Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and potentially California, as well as strengthening engagement with patent pro bono initiatives. Finally, he will work to expand opportunities for members by organizing additional small, in-person networking events throughout the year.

The IP section of the Utah State Bar provides a platform for learning and guidance on topics such as patents, trademarks, litigation, copyright, e-commerce, trade secrets, licensing, post-grant proceedings, IP counseling, and international IP.
