Workman Nydegger Welcomes Fall 2026 IP Interns

Workman Nydegger is pleased to welcome Brooks Clements IV, Zachary Edgren, and Matt Reall as participants in the firm’s Fall 2026 Intellectual Property Internship Program.

Offered twice each year in partnership with local universities, the program gives students firsthand exposure to the work of an intellectual property law firm. Interns work alongside mentoring attorneys to better understand how new inventions are developed, evaluated, and protected.

Building Experience at the Intersection of Innovation, Business, and Law

Workman Nydegger’s IP Internship Program is designed for students with technical and scientific backgrounds who are exploring careers in intellectual property law. Through direct experience with the patent process and the firm’s work, interns see how legal strategy helps innovators protect and advance their ideas.

The Fall 2026 class brings a range of technical experience to the program:

• Brooks Clements IV is pursuing Applied Physics with a minor in Legal Studies at the University of Utah. He brings experience in patent research, technical disclosures, and patent drafting.
• Zachary Edgren is an Electrical Engineering student with a Mathematics minor at Brigham Young University. His background includes prior-art research, patentability analysis, circuit design, and semiconductor research.
• Matt Reall is a Molecular Biology student at Brigham Young University with experience in computational biology, bioinformatics research, and scientific writing.

Mentorship for Future IP Professionals

By working directly with experienced attorneys, interns gain a practical view of how intellectual property law supports clients across life sciences, engineering, software, electronics, and other technology-driven industries. The program also helps students build their resumes while developing a stronger understanding of the connection between innovation, business, and law.
