In its list of Top Patent Firms for 2012, Workman Nydegger was ranked 35th nationally by Intellectual Property Today, a national trade journal focused on legal issues in patent, trademark and copyright law.
IPT’s nationwide survey of 272 firms is based on the number of patents (design and utility) obtained by a firm for its clients. Workman Nydegger is the only Salt Lake City IP firm to be ranked in the top 50 by IPT, which published the results in its March, 2012 edition. The accomplishment is further underscored if one considers that many of the firms with higher rankings are much larger in size, but because of the relatively high per capita number of patents per attorney obtained for its clients W|N still compared very favorably to those firms.
Mr. Lorimer, the firm’s managing director, noted that “I am very proud of the firm’s accomplishment, which is notable given the much larger size of most firms ranked within the Top 35, and further given that most of W|N’s issued patents were derived from natively filed U.S. applications, as opposed to U.S. foreign priority filings based on foreign-filed applications.”
Founded more than 25 years ago, Workman Nydegger is one of the largest firms in Salt Lake, and has consistently earned recognition as one of the top intellectual property firms in the nation. The firm represents a wide array of clients in all areas of intellectual property law, including patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and related litigation and licensing matters, and in a diverse range of technologies, including computer systems, software, e-commerce and information technology; electronics and electrical engineering; pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, chemical, biotechnology, and medical and life science technologies; physics and optics; mechanics and mechanical engineering and alternative energy.
