In a list of Top U.S. Patent Filers released by Managing Intellectual Property in its February 2013 survey, Workman Nydegger was ranked third among the top five outside counsel firms for Microsoft and Seiko Epson. Microsoft ranked 6th among the Top 25 U.S. Patent Filers and Seiko Epson ranked 12th. W|N was among an elite group of only a dozen firms who ranked among the top five outside counsel firms for more than one of the Top 25 U.S. Patent Filers.
The survey results were compiled for Managing Intellectual Property by IFI Claims Patent Services (IFI), a company specializing in providing information about intellectual property. IFI used algorithms to analyze publicly available figures from the USPTO. Managing Intellectual Property then interviewed in-house counsel from the top 25 companies, as well as partners from the law firms, to which those companies outsource filing work.
