Overview

James W. McConkie III’s practice involves general civil and commercial litigation, with special emphasis in contract or business disputes, employment, trademark and unfair business practice matters.  Mr. McConkie has experience in complex and class action litigation, having played a key role in two Federal Receiverships and a successful nationwide lawsuit against a Fortune 500 company.

Mr. McConkie has successfully tried and handled cases on both the state and federal level. He regularly advises clients on matters pertaining to their strategic planning, business organizations, management, disputes, and potential liabilities. His professional experience also includes service as an adjunct instructor of Business Law at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and as a visiting lecturer at various European law schools on the subjects of U.S. commercial law and the jury system. Upon graduation from law school, Mr. McConkie worked as a visiting associate with the Prague based law firm of Cisar, Ceska, Smutny & Spol in the Czech Republic handling commercial transactions and international arbitration matters.
