Michael M. Ballard
Mr. Ballard’s practice is focused on preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in the United States and foreign countries, including foreign trademark filings under the Madrid Protocol. Mr. Ballard also engages in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, patentability analysis of inventions, the preparation of licensing agreements, and other agreements related to intellectual property.
Mr. Ballard has a broad range of experience in the mechanical arts, including mechanical devices, thermal science systems, medical devices, mechanical systems, semiconductor chip fabrication, agricultural equipment and processes, and other related fields. During law school, he argued at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit while competing in the National Finals of the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition, a nationally recognized IP moot court competition.
