In a list of Top U.S. Patent Filers released by Managing Intellectual Property in its February 2013 survey, Workman Nydegger was ranked third among the top five outside counsel firms for Microsoft and Seiko Epson. Microsoft ranked 6th among the Top 25 U.S. Patent Filers and Seiko Epson ranked 12th. W|N was among an elite group of only a dozen firms who ranked among the top five outside counsel firms for more than one of the Top 25 U.S. Patent Filers.
In its list of Top Patent Firms for 2013, Workman Nydegger was ranked 37th nationally by Intellectual Property Today, a national trade journal focused on legal issues in patent, trademark and copyright law.
Workman Nydegger welcomes Justin J. Cassell as the firm’s newest equity shareholder. Mr. Cassell serves a significant clientele in Europe, and adds an important dimension to Workman Nydegger’s overseas practice. He is experienced in strategic client counseling, licensing transactions and matters relating to infringement opinions and freedom to operate, as well as strategic monitoring of competitive patent portfolios. Mr. Cassell also has significant experience in U.S. and foreign patent prosecution. He routinely handles U.S. application filings based on applications filed abroad, and is well versed in international filing and prosecution in many jurisdictions around the world, including Europe, China, Japan, Australia, Canada and South America, and under the International Patent Cooperation Treaty.
